श्रीगुरु चरन सरोज रज निज मनु मुकुरु सुधारि । बरनऊँ रघुबर बिमल जसु जो दायकु फल चारि ॥

Shri Guru Charan Saroj Raj, Nij Manu Mukur Sudhari | Barnau Raghuvar Bimal Jasu, Jo Dayaku Phal Chari ||

Cleansing the mirror of my mind with the dust of the lotus feet of Sri Guru, I sing the pure glory of Lord Ramachandra, which bestows the four fruits of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha).

बुद्धिहीन तनु जानिके सुमिरौं पवन-कुमार । बल बुधि बिद्या देहु मोहिं हरहु कलेस बिकार ॥

Budhiheen Tanu Janike, Sumirau Pawan Kumar | Bal Budhi Vidya Dehu Mohi, Harahu Kalesh Bikaar ||

Realizing my lack of intelligence, I meditate upon you, O Son of the Wind (Hanuman). Bestow upon me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove all my miseries and flaws.

जय हनुमान ज्ञान गुन सागर । जय कपीस तिहुँ लोक उजागर ॥

Jai Hanuman Gyan Gun Sagar | Jai Kapees Tihun Lok Ujagar ||

Victory to Lord Hanuman, the ocean of wisdom and virtue! Victory to the Lord of Monkeys, who illuminates the three worlds!

रामदूत अतुलित बल धामा । अंजनि-पुत्र पवनसुत नामा ॥

Ramdoot Atulit Bal Dhama | Anjani-Putra Pawansut Nama ||

The messenger of Sri Rama, the repository of immeasurable strength, born of Anjana and known as the Son of the Wind.

महाबीर बिक्रम बजरंगी । कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी ॥

Mahaveer Bikram Bajrangi | Kumati Nivar Sumati Ke Sangi ||

O great hero of exceptional valor, with limbs as strong as thunderbolts! You dispel negative thoughts and are the companion of wisdom.

कंचन बरन बिराज सुबेसा । कानन कुंडल कुंचित केसा ॥

Kanchan Baran Biraj Subesa | Kanan Kundal Kunchit Kesa ||

Your golden complexion is radiant, and you are beautifully adorned with ear-rings and curly hair.

हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै । काँधे मूँज जनेऊ साजै ॥

Hath Bajra Au Dhwaja Birajai | Kandhe Munj Janeu Sajai ||

In your hands shine a mace (thunderbolt) and a flag, while a sacred thread of Munja grass adorns your shoulder.

शंकर सुवन केसरीनंदन । तेज प्रताप महा जग बंदन ॥

Shankar Suvan Kesarinandan | Tej Pratap Maha Jag Bandan ||

The incarnation of Lord Shiva and son of Kesari, your immense radiance and glory are revered by the entire world.

बिद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर । राम काज करिबे को आतुर ॥

Vidyavan Guni Ati Chatur | Ram Kaj Karibe Ko Aatur ||

You are highly learned, virtuous, and exceptionally wise, always eager to perform Lord Rama's tasks.

प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया । राम लखन सीता मन बसिया ॥

Prabhu Charitra Sunibe Ko Rasiya | Ram Lakhan Sita Man Basiya ||

You delight in listening to the stories of Lord Rama, and you reside forever in the hearts of Sri Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita.

सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा । बिकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा ॥

Sukshma Roop Dhari Siyahin Dikhawa | Bikat Roop Dhari Lanka Jarawa ||

You appeared before Mother Sita in a tiny form, but assumed a colossal and terrifying form to burn the golden city of Lanka.

भीम रूप धरि असुर सँहारे । रामचन्द्र के काज सवाँारे ॥

Bheem Roop Dhari Asur Sanhare | Ramachandra Ke Kaj Sanware ||

Assuming a mighty warrior form, you destroyed the demons and successfully accomplished Lord Ramachandra's mission.

लाय सजीवन लखन जियाये । श्रीरघुबीर हरषि उर लाये ॥

Lay Sajivan Lakhan Jiyaye | Shri Raghuveer Harashi Ur Laye ||

You brought the life-giving Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshmana, causing Lord Rama to embrace you in joy.

रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बड़ाई । तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई ॥

Raghupati Keenhi Bahut Badai | Tum Mam Priya Bharatahi Sam Bhai ||

Lord Rama praised you immensely, saying, 'You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata.'

सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं । अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं ॥

Sahas Badan Tumharo Jas Gawain | As Kahi Shripati Kanth Lagawain ||

'May the thousand-headed serpent Shesha sing your glory,' saying this, the Lord of Lakshmi (Rama) embraced you.

सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा । नारद सारद सहित अहीसा ॥

Sanakadika Brahmadika Muneesa | Narad Sarad Sahit Aheesa ||

Sanaka and the other sages, Lord Brahma, the king of gods, Narada, Saraswati, and Sheshnag all sing your glory.

जम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँ ते । कबि कोबिद कहि सकैं कहाँ ते ॥

Yam Kuber Digpal Jahan Te | Kabi Kobid Kahi Sakain Kahan Te ||

Yama (god of death), Kubera (god of wealth), and the guardians of all directions, as well as poets and scholars, cannot fully describe your greatness.

तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा । राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा ॥

Tum Upakar Sugreevahin Keenha | Ram Milay Raj Pad Deenha ||

You rendered great service to Sugriva by introducing him to Sri Rama, thereby securing his kingship.

तुम्हरो मंत्र बिभीषन माना । लंकेस्वर भए सब जग जाना ॥

Tumharo Mantra Vibheeshan Mana | Lankeswar Bhaye Sab Jag Jana ||

Vibhishana followed your counsel, and the whole world knows that he became the King of Lanka.

जुग सहस्र जोजन पर भानू । लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू ॥

Jug Sahasra Jojan Par Bhanu | Leelyo Tahi Madhur Phal Janu ||

Thinking the sun (which is thousands of leagues away) to be a sweet, ripe fruit, you flew and swallowed it.

प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं । जलधि लाँघि गये अचरज नाहीं ॥

Prabhu Mudrika Meli Mukh Mahee | Jaladhi Langhi Gaye Acharaj Nahee ||

Placing Lord Rama's signet ring in your mouth, you leaped across the ocean; it is no surprise that you could do so.

दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते । सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते ॥

Durgam Kaj Jagat Ke Jete | Sugam Anugrah Tumhare Tete ||

All difficult tasks in the world become easily attainable by your grace.

राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे । होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे ॥

Ram Duare Tum Rakhaware | Hot Na Agya Binu Paisare ||

You are the gatekeeper of Lord Rama's court. No one can enter without your permission.

सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना । तुम रक्षक काहू को डरना ॥

Sab Sukh Lahai Tumhari Sarana | Tum Rakshak Kahu Ko Darna ||

All happiness is attained under your refuge. When you are the protector, what is there to fear?

आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै । तीनों लोक हाँक तें काँपै ॥

Aapan Tej Samharo Aapai | Teenon Lok Hank Ten Kanpai ||

You alone can control your immense energy. The three worlds tremble at your roar.

भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै । महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै ॥

Bhoot Pisach Nikat Nahin Aawai | Mahaveer Jab Naam Sunawai ||

Evil spirits and ghosts do not come near when the name of the great hero Hanuman is chanted.

नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा । जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा ॥

Nasai Rog Harai Sab Peera | Japat Nirantar Hanumat Beera ||

All diseases are cured and all pains vanish when the name of brave Hanuman is constantly chanted.

संकट तें हनुमान छुड़ावै । मन क्रम बचन ध्यान जो लावै ॥

Sankat Ten Hanuman Chhudawai | Man Kram Bachan Dhyan Jo Lawai ||

Hanuman delivers from all distress those who focus their mind, actions, and speech on him.

सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा । तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा ॥

Sab Par Ram Tapaswee Raja | Tinke Kaj Sakal Tum Saja ||

Sri Rama is the supreme ascetic King, and you successfully accomplished all his tasks.

और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै । सोइ अमित जीवन फल पावै ॥

Aur Manorath Jo Koi Lawai | Soi Amit Jeevan Phal Pawai ||

Whoever brings any other desire to you, obtains the limitless and immortal fruits of life.

चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा । है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा ॥

Charon Jug Partap Tumhara | Hai Parasiddh Jagat Ujiyara ||

Your glory spans across all four yugas (epochs), and your fame illuminates the entire world.

साधु संत के तुम रखवारे । असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे ॥

Sadhu Sant Ke Tum Rakhaware | Asur Nikandan Ram Dulare ||

You are the protector of sages and saints, the destroyer of demons, and the beloved of Sri Rama.

अष्ट सिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता । अस बर दीन्ह जानकी माता ॥

Asht Siddhi Nau Nidhi Ke Data | As Bar Deenh Janaki Mata ||

Mother Sita granted you the boon to bestow the eight mystic powers (Siddhis) and nine spiritual treasures (Nidhis).

राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा । सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा ॥

Ram Rasayan Tumhare Pasa | Sada Raho Raghupati Ke Dasa ||

You possess the nectar of Rama's devotion; may you forever remain the humble servant of Lord Rama.

तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै । जनम जनम के दुख बिसरावै ॥

Tumhre Bhajan Ram Ko Pawai | Janam Janam Ke Dukh Bisrawai ||

By chanting your praise, one reaches Sri Rama and is freed from the sorrows of many lifetimes.

अन्त काल रघुबर पुर जाई । जहाँ जन्म हरि-भक्त कहाई ॥

Anta Kaal Raghuvar Pur Jai | Yahan Janma Hari-Bhakta Kahai ||

At the end of life, such a devotee enters the divine abode of Sri Rama, and in subsequent births is known as a devotee of Lord Hari.

और देवता चित्त न धरई । हनुमत सेइ सर्ब सुख करई ॥

Aur Devta Chitta Na Dharai | Hanumat Sei Sarba Sukh Karai ||

Without worshipping any other deity, one attains complete happiness by serving Hanuman alone.

संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा । जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा ॥

Sankat Katai Mitai Sab Peera | Jo Sumirai Hanumat Balbeera ||

All difficulties disappear and all pain is removed when one remembers the strong and brave Hanuman.

जै जै जै हनुमान गोसाईं । कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की नाईं ॥

Jai Jai Jai Hanuman Gosain | Kripa Karahu Gurudev Ki Nain ||

Hail, hail, hail to Lord Hanuman! Bestow your grace upon me like a spiritual master.

जो सत बार पाठ कर कोई । छूटहि बंदि महा सुख होई ॥

Jo Sat Bar Path Kar Koi | Chhootahi Bandi Maha Sukh Hoi ||

Whoever recites this Chalisa a hundred times is freed from all bondage and experiences supreme joy.

जो यह पढ़ै हनुमान चालीसा । होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा ॥

Jo Yeh Padhai Hanuman Chalisa | Hoy Siddhi Sakhi Gaurisa ||

Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa attains spiritual perfection, with Lord Shiva (husband of Gauri) as the witness.

तुलसीदास सदा हरि चेरा । कीजै नाथ हृदय मँह डेरा ॥

Tulsidas Sada Hari Chera | Keejai Nath Hriday Mah Dera ||

Tulsidas, who is forever the servant of Lord Hari, prays: O Lord, reside forever in my heart.

पवनतनय संकट हरन मंगल मूरति रूप । राम लखन सीता सहित हृदय बसहु सुर भूप ॥

Pavantanay Sankat Haran, Mangal Moorti Roop | Ram Lakhan Sita Sahit, Hriday Basahu Sur Bhoop ||

O Son of the Wind, destroyer of all difficulties, embodiment of auspiciousness! Dwell in my heart along with Sri Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita, O King of Gods.
