About Budh Chalisa

Budh Chalisa is one of the most revered devotional hymns in the Hindu tradition, dedicated to Lord Budh (Mercury). Recited by millions of devotees, it invokes divine grace, mental steadiness, and protection from negative influences.

  • Planetary Remedy for Mercury (Budh): In Vedic astrology, this hymn is widely recommended during Mercury (Budh) Mahadasha, Antardasha, or challenging transits to harmonize planetary energy and reduce karmic pressure.

Benefits of Recitation

  • Strengthens weak or afflicted Mercury in the birth chart
  • Enhances intellect, speech, education, and business acumen
  • Removes Budh dosha and obstacles in communication and career
  • Traditionally recited on Wednesday with green flowers and moong dal offerings

Best Time and Method

Recite on Wednesday (Budh's day), ideally at sunrise. Offer green flowers, moong dal, and light a ghee lamp. Regular Wednesday recitation during Budh Mahadasha is especially auspicious.

Astrological Significance

Regular recitation aligns the mind with dharmic discipline — the foundation of all Vedic remedies. Pair this practice with honest conduct, seva (selfless service), and consistency rather than fear-based ritual alone.
