- Planetary Remedy for Rahu: In Vedic astrology, this hymn is widely recommended during Rahu Mahadasha, Antardasha, or challenging transits to harmonize planetary energy and reduce karmic pressure.
Benefits of Recitation
- Removes Fear & Anxiety: Destroys deep-seated phobias, the fear of death, and the effects of evil energies.

- Grants Discipline: Being the Lord of Time, his worship imparts perfect time management and strict spiritual discipline.
- Planetary Remedies: Highly effective for pacifying negative effects of Rahu and Shani (Saturn).
Best Time and Method
Recite on Sunday (especially Rahu Kaal) or Tuesday. Best occasion is Kalabhairava Ashtami. Light a mustard oil lamp (diya) and offer black sesame seeds or urad dal. Chant the Ashtakam with utmost devotion, completely surrendering your ego to the Lord of Time.
Astrological Significance
Regular recitation aligns the mind with dharmic discipline — the foundation of all Vedic remedies. Pair this practice with honest conduct, seva (selfless service), and consistency rather than fear-based ritual alone.
