Jupiter Transit in Leo 2026: Dates & Effects by Moon Sign
Jupiter Transit in Leo 2026–27: The Short Answer
Jupiter moves from Cancer into Leo (Simha Rashi) on October 31, 2026, at around 10:57 AM IST. It does not stay there in one straight run. Jupiter turns retrograde in mid-December, slips back into Cancer on January 25, 2027, and returns to Leo on June 26, 2027. It finally leaves Leo for Virgo on November 26, 2027.
So the Leo transit comes in two parts. The first is short, about three months at the end of 2026. The second, from late June to late November 2027, is when Leo's themes become fully settled.
Jupiter, called Guru in Vedic astrology, is the planet of growth, wisdom, children, teachers, marriage and fortune. When it changes sign, the part of your life that receives its support changes too. This guide explains what that means for each Moon sign.

Everything below is counted from your Vedic Moon sign, not your Western Sun sign. If you are unsure of yours, read How to Find Your Moon Sign first.

A normal Jupiter transit lasts about a year, since Jupiter takes roughly 12 years to go around the zodiac once. NASA's Jupiter facts give its orbital period as about 11.86 Earth years. This transit is more uneven than usual because a retrograde falls right at both ends of the Leo stay.
What Jupiter in Leo Means
Leo is ruled by the Sun, and the Sun is one of Jupiter's natural friends. So Jupiter is comfortable in Leo, though not as strong as it is in Cancer, its sign of exaltation. Think of it as leaving a peak position for a respected, well-supported one.
Leo is about the self, dignity, leadership, creativity, children and the heart. Jupiter in Leo tends to bring these into focus:
- Leadership with ethics. Authority that is earned through fairness and knowledge, not just rank.
- Children and creativity. Leo is the natural 5th sign of the zodiac, so questions of children, students, art and self-expression come up.
- Government, fathers and elders. The Sun's sign links Jupiter to authority figures and institutions.
- Confidence. Jupiter expands whatever it touches. In Leo that can be healthy self-belief or, if handled poorly, pride.
Jupiter's aspects from Leo
In Vedic astrology Jupiter casts full aspects on the 5th, 7th and 9th signs from where it sits. From Leo those are:
- Sagittarius (5th aspect). Jupiter aspects its own sign, which strengthens Sagittarius matters.
- Aquarius (7th aspect).
- Aries (9th aspect).
This is why Jupiter can help a Moon sign even when it is not transiting a "good" house for that sign. Its aspect can still support a particular area of life.
The three nakshatras Jupiter crosses
Leo contains three lunar mansions, and each gives the transit a slightly different flavor:
- Magha (ruled by Ketu): ancestors, lineage, tradition, inherited status. This is where Jupiter spends the 2026 phase and the early part of the 2027 phase.
- Purva Phalguni (ruled by Venus): pleasure, romance, creativity, rest, celebration. From August 31, 2027.
- Uttara Phalguni (ruled by the Sun): commitments, contracts, patronage, marriage agreements. From November 4, 2027.
The Jupiter–Ketu Period in Leo (October 31 – December 5, 2026)
For the first five weeks, Jupiter shares Leo with Ketu. Ketu has been in Leo since mid-2025 and moves into Cancer on December 5, 2026, when the Rahu–Ketu axis shifts. (Our Ketu Transit 2026 guide covers that shift in detail.)
Jupiter with Ketu is traditionally read as a spiritual combination. Jupiter brings wisdom and faith, and Ketu brings detachment and inward focus. In practice, you may find:
- A stronger pull toward prayer, study of scripture, pilgrimage or meditation.
- Less interest in showing off and more interest in what actually matters.
- Some confusion about beliefs or advisers, since Ketu can blur Jupiter's judgment.
This is not a period to fear. It is simply a better time for reflection than for big displays. If you have major decisions about teachers, gurus, or spiritual commitments, give them some time to settle before acting.
The Two Phases: Why 2026 and 2027 Feel Different
Phase 1 (October 31, 2026 – January 25, 2027). Jupiter enters Leo, meets Ketu, and turns retrograde about six weeks later. This phase often gives a preview. Themes of the new house start to show up, but many of them do not fully develop yet.
Interlude (January 25 – June 26, 2027). Jupiter goes back into Cancer, its exaltation sign, and turns direct around April 13. Unfinished matters from the Cancer transit of mid-2026 return for completion.
Phase 2 (June 26 – November 26, 2027). Jupiter moves forward through Leo without interruption. This is the main delivery period of the Leo transit. What was previewed in late 2026 tends to become concrete here.
One more point for mid-2027: Saturn enters Aries on June 3, 2027, and from June 26 Jupiter in Leo aspects Aries with its 9th-house aspect. Traditionally, Jupiter's aspect on Saturn is seen as easing Saturn's pressure, which is relevant for anyone going through Saturn's Sade Sati at that time.
Jupiter in Leo: Effects for All 12 Moon Signs
Classical texts consider Jupiter's transit most supportive in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th houses from the Moon. That does not make the other houses bad. It means Jupiter's help there is quieter, slower or more indirect. Your own birth chart, especially the house Jupiter rules for you and your current dasha, decides how strongly any of this shows up.
| Moon Sign | House Jupiter Transits | Houses It Aspects |
|---|---|---|
| Aries | 5th (children, learning) | 9th, 11th, 1st |
| Taurus | 4th (home, mother) | 8th, 10th, 12th |
| Gemini | 3rd (effort, siblings) | 7th, 9th, 11th |
| Cancer | 2nd (family, money) | 6th, 8th, 10th |
| Leo | 1st (self, health) | 5th, 7th, 9th |
| Virgo | 12th (expenses, abroad) | 4th, 6th, 8th |
| Libra | 11th (gains, network) | 3rd, 5th, 7th |
| Scorpio | 10th (career) | 2nd, 4th, 6th |
| Sagittarius | 9th (fortune, dharma) | 1st, 3rd, 5th |
| Capricorn | 8th (change, research) | 12th, 2nd, 4th |
| Aquarius | 7th (marriage, partners) | 11th, 1st, 3rd |
| Pisces | 6th (work, health, debt) | 10th, 12th, 2nd |
Aries Moon (Mesha): Jupiter in Your 5th House
This is one of the best Jupiter placements you can get from the Moon. The 5th house governs children, education, creativity, romance and good judgment. Students often find focus and good teachers. Couples hoping for a child may find this period supportive, though medical guidance always comes first.
Jupiter also aspects your 9th, 11th and 1st houses. That brings help from mentors, gains through your network, and a noticeably more optimistic outlook. Investments made with research rather than impulse tend to do better now.
The caution is overconfidence. With Jupiter this supportive, it is easy to assume every idea will work. Choose the two or three that matter and finish them.
Practical focus: Enroll in the course you have been postponing. Spend real time with your children or students.
Taurus Moon (Vrishabha): Jupiter in Your 4th House
The 4th house is home, mother, property, vehicles and inner peace. Jupiter here often brings activity around the house: renovation, a move, buying property or looking after your mother. Some people feel a pull to settle down after a restless period.
Jupiter's aspect on your 10th house can support career stability, and its aspect on the 8th and 12th brings interest in research, spirituality or overseas matters. Classical texts do not count the 4th as a strong Jupiter transit house, so career growth may be steady rather than dramatic.
Practical focus: Check property papers carefully before signing. Protect your time at home from work spillover.
Gemini Moon (Mithuna): Jupiter in Your 3rd House
The 3rd house is effort, communication, short travel, courage and siblings. Jupiter here does not hand out easy wins. Results come through what you put in: writing, sales, media, teaching or any work that depends on your own initiative.
The redeeming feature is Jupiter's aspects. It looks at your 7th house (partnerships and marriage), 9th house (fortune and teachers) and 11th house (gains). So your marriage or business partnerships may improve even while your own efforts feel heavier than usual.
Practical focus: Keep a steady routine. Sort out any tension with siblings early.
Cancer Moon (Karka): Jupiter in Your 2nd House
Jupiter has been in your own sign since June 2026, which may have brought personal growth along with extra weight or responsibility. Moving into your 2nd house is usually welcome. The 2nd house governs savings, family, speech and food, and Jupiter here traditionally supports income and family harmony.
Jupiter's aspect on your 10th house helps career reputation, and its aspect on the 6th helps with debts and competition. Speak with care, because your words carry more weight than usual. Advice you give now tends to be remembered.
Note that Jupiter returns to your sign between January and June 2027, so the full 2nd-house effect settles mainly from late June 2027.
Practical focus: Build a savings habit. Plan family gatherings or ceremonies for the second half of 2027.
Leo Moon (Simha): Jupiter in Your 1st House
Jupiter over your own Moon raises your visibility. People notice you more, and you may be asked to lead, advise or teach. Confidence rises, and your outlook tends to be more hopeful than in recent years.
Jupiter's aspects on your 5th, 7th and 9th houses cover children, marriage and fortune, all important areas. Single Leo natives often find this a supportive time for marriage discussions. Married natives may see the partnership improve.
Classical texts treat Jupiter over the Moon as mixed. The usual problems are weight gain, overcommitment and pride. Also note that Ketu is in Leo with Jupiter until December 5, 2026, which can make late 2026 feel more introspective than expansive.
Practical focus: Watch your diet and routine. Recite Aditya Hridayam for the Sun, your sign lord, alongside Jupiter remedies.
Virgo Moon (Kanya): Jupiter in Your 12th House
The 12th house governs expenses, sleep, foreign lands, hospitals, ashrams and spiritual retreat. Jupiter here often sends money toward meaningful things: travel, education abroad, charity, or family needs. The spending is not necessarily wasteful, but it needs a budget.
Jupiter's aspects on your 4th, 6th and 8th houses help with home comfort, overcoming competition and research. This is a strong period for meditation, retreats or study that needs solitude.
Keep in mind that from June 2027 Saturn moves into Aries, which is your 8th house (Shani Dhaiya). See What Is Shani Dhaiya for that side of your 2027.
Practical focus: Set a spending limit before travel. Guard your sleep.
Libra Moon (Tula): Jupiter in Your 11th House
The 11th house is gains, income, friends, elder siblings and fulfilment of wishes. Jupiter here is traditionally one of the most rewarding transits. Networks become useful, pending payments often clear, and long-held goals start moving.
Jupiter's aspects on the 3rd, 5th and 7th houses support your courage, children and marriage. This is a good time to join a professional group, take on a mentor, or expand a business through partnerships.
Practical focus: Reconnect with former colleagues. Say yes to the right invitations, not all of them.
Scorpio Moon (Vrishchika): Jupiter in Your 10th House
The 10th house is career, status and public work. Jupiter here brings more responsibility, sometimes a new role, and more attention from seniors. Classical texts do not consider the 10th among Jupiter's strongest transit houses, so progress may come with pressure. You might be given the harder project or be asked to prove yourself first.
Jupiter's aspects on your 2nd, 4th and 6th houses support family finances, home life and handling competitors. Work that involves teaching, consulting, law or management tends to benefit the most.
Practical focus: Keep your ethics clean at work. Document decisions carefully.
Sagittarius Moon (Dhanu): Jupiter in Your 9th House
Your sign lord moving into your 9th house is a very supportive transit. The 9th house is fortune, dharma, higher learning, father, long journeys and teachers. Pilgrimages, higher studies and meeting a meaningful mentor are all common themes.
Jupiter's aspects fall on your 1st, 3rd and 5th houses, including its 5th aspect on its own sign, which is your Moon sign. This tends to lift health, confidence, effort and children's matters together.
Practical focus: Plan a pilgrimage or learning trip. Respect your father and elders; this transit rewards it.
Capricorn Moon (Makara): Jupiter in Your 8th House
The 8th house is sudden change, research, joint finances, insurance, inheritance and hidden matters. Jupiter here is not classically favorable, but it is protective. It can bring money through a spouse, an inheritance or insurance, and it supports research, astrology and deep study.
Jupiter's aspects fall on your 12th, 2nd and 4th houses. That helps family finances and home peace, though expenses also need watching.
Also note that Rahu moves into your own sign on December 5, 2026. Our Rahu Transit 2026 guide covers that side. Health checkups and careful financial planning are sensible during this period.
Practical focus: Keep emergency savings. Get regular health checkups rather than waiting for a problem.
Aquarius Moon (Kumbha): Jupiter in Your 7th House
The 7th house is marriage, partnerships, business deals and public dealings. Jupiter here is traditionally excellent for marriage prospects and partnership growth. Unmarried natives often see serious proposals, and existing partnerships can become more stable.
Jupiter's aspects fall on your 11th, 1st and 3rd houses, including a direct aspect on your Moon sign. This supports gains, health and confidence at the same time. Your Sade Sati also begins to wind down in June 2027 when Saturn leaves Pisces. Saturn briefly returns to Pisces from October 2027 to February 2028, but the heaviest part is behind you, so 2027 may feel noticeably lighter.
Practical focus: If marriage is on your mind, this is a good window for matching and discussions. See Kundli Matching and Guna Milan.
Pisces Moon (Meena): Jupiter in Your 6th House
Your sign lord moving into the 6th house points toward work, service, health routines, debts and competition. Jupiter here is not classically favorable. The usual advice is to be careful with loans, disputes and diet.
Still, Jupiter's aspects fall on your 10th, 12th and 2nd houses, which helps career effort, spiritual practice and savings. Jobs in healthcare, law, service or teaching often go well. And from June 2027 Jupiter's aspect on Aries softens Saturn there, which matters because Saturn's Sade Sati continues for you.
Practical focus: Clear small debts first. Build a daily health routine that you can actually keep.
Practical Remedies for Jupiter in Leo
Remedies work best when they are simple and regular. Pick one or two and keep doing them, instead of trying everything at once.
- Thursday practice. Thursday is Jupiter's day. Light a ghee lamp, and chant the Guru beej mantra Om Graam Greem Groum Sah Gurave Namah 108 times, or recite the Guru Chalisa.
- Vishnu worship. Lord Vishnu is traditionally linked with Jupiter. Reciting Vishnu Sahasranama on Thursdays is a well-known Guru remedy.
- Donations. Chana dal, turmeric, yellow cloth, bananas or books, given on Thursdays to people who need them or to a temple.
- Respect teachers. Jupiter is the teacher. Help students, support a teacher, or give time to education. This is the most direct way to work with Guru.
- Gemstones only after a chart check. Yellow sapphire (pukhraj) is linked with Jupiter, but it is not suitable for every chart. Do not wear it only because of a transit.

How to Read This Transit for Yourself
A Moon-sign reading is a useful starting point, but it is general. Three things decide how strongly this transit affects you:
- Your dasha. If you are running Jupiter's Mahadasha or Antardasha, this transit matters much more. Read Vimshottari Dasha to find your current period.
- Your natal Jupiter. Where Jupiter sits in your birth chart and which houses it rules shape the results. Our Jupiter in the 12 Houses guide explains this.
- Your ascendant. Reading the transit from your Lagna as well as your Moon gives a fuller picture.
